Inflection of bash, from Middle English *basshen, likely from Old Norse *baska 'to strike'.
bash 加 -ing；bash 可能來自古諾斯語，意思是「打」。
Bash is a hard blow, and bashing is that blow named as a thing. Keep your eye on the blow and you can watch it change target. First it lands on a person's body. Then it lands on a group's name, thrown by a newspaper column or a comment thread. The hand and the are different, but the shape holds: one target, hit again and again, and a word that thinks the hitting is unfair.
bash 是一記用力的打，bashing 就是把那一記打變成一件可以講的事。可以把目光放在那一下上，看它換目標。一開始它打在身體上。後來它打在一個群體的名聲上，出手的變成報紙的專欄或留言區。手不一樣了，傷也不一樣了，但形狀沒變：同一個目標，一下一下地被打，而且說這個字的人覺得這樣打不公平。
