    正式To tell someone about something, especially the facts or information they need in order to understand a situation.

    acquaint somebody with something 是比較正式的「把情況說給某人聽」，句型固定：acquaint＋人＋with＋事。跟 tell 的差別在於它帶有「讓對方掌握到能判斷的程度」，所以常出現在報案、通報學校、交代案情這種場合。日常閒聊要說「我跟他說了」，用 I told him 就好；用 acquaint 會像在寫公文。
