visit (for pleasure) · verb · A1
To make a trip to a place or a person and spend some time there, often for pleasure.
You can think of 'visit' as the act of going somewhere on purpose, spending some time there, and then leaving again — you don't move in, you arrive, you stay a while, you go. The place might be a person, a town, a clinic, or a website; the shape is always the same: a temporary, intentional stop.
