Teleportation is the imaginary act of moving from one place to another in an instant, with no journey in between — the idea that a person or thing can vanish here and appear there. In games it names the way you jump between places on the map. People also use it in half-serious everyday talk when they wish travel were instant: 'Teleportation would solve my commute.'
