Shipbuilding is the industry — and the work — of making ships. A country with strong shipbuilding has big yards, many workers, and orders for tankers, ferries, or . It covers design, steel work, engines, and launching the finished ship. The word belongs in news, geography, and history, not in chat about a toy boat. Though actually it is easy to mix up with shipping, which is carrying goods by sea, not making the ships themselves.
