核心畫面

One way to hold 'risk': standing somewhere exposed, where something bad has a real chance of reaching you. From that one picture — the open chance of harm — the noun spreads: the chance itself, a thing you choose to do even though it might hurt you, the source of danger, and a set of fixed phrases (at risk, run the risk of, at your own risk) that each point at being exposed. The verb then takes the same exposure and makes it a choice: you knowingly put something — your money, your life, your reputation — out where it could be lost.
