    「mosque」是穆斯林禮拜、祈禱的建築，中文叫「清真寺」。它跟 church（教堂，基督徒去的）、temple（廟，佛教或道教的）是同一類的詞——都是「大家一起禮拜的地方」，差別在於是哪一群人去。這個字來自阿拉伯文 masjid，可以想成「低下頭禮拜的地方」，所以整棟建築的重點不是外觀，而是裡面的人在做什麼。
