A shrine is a place people consider holy or special, often connected to a god, a saint, or an important memory, where people go to pray or show respect. It doesn't have to be a huge building — a small shrine can be a simple structure or even just a corner of a room. People also use 'shrine' more loosely for a place dedicated to someone or something they admire, like a shrine to a favorite singer.
