From Old French inquisitif, from Late Latin inquisitivus, from Latin inquirere, to search into or ask about — the same root as English inquire. The picture of asking one's way inward is already in the root.
來自古法文 inquisitif，再往前是後期拉丁文 inquisitivus，源頭是拉丁文 inquirere，意思是「往裡面找、追問」，跟英文的 inquire 同一個根。「一直往裡面問」這個畫面，在字根裡就有了。
