Get supplies the effort; over supplies the shape of the movement: up, across the top of something, and down on the far side. Picture a wall or a fallen tree lying in the path, and a person climbing over it and walking on. An illness, a sadness, a job nobody wants to do, even the distance between two people can be treated as that thing in the path, and the word describes reaching the far side of it.

路上擋了一道牆、或一棵倒下來的樹：人爬上去，翻過最高點，再落到另一邊接著走。get 帶出那番使力，over 給出動作的形狀——越過去，到對面。一場病、一段難過、一件沒人想做的事，甚至兩個人中間那段距離，都可以當成路上擋著的那個東西，而這個字講的是終於站到了它的另一邊。
