flashback (sudden memory) · noun · C2
A memory that comes back all at once, very clear, of something that happened to you in the past.
閃回
One way to hold it: something from the past comes back all at once, in a flash, without being called — a sudden return along a line that should only run forwards.
A transparent compound: flash + back. The word carries its own picture — 'back' gives the reversed direction, 'flash' gives the suddenness, and every sense is some line running backwards in an instant.
構詞完全透明:flash(閃、一瞬間)+ back(往回)。

flashback (drug recurrence) · noun · C2
