From warmed + over, where over can be taken as "again" (as in do it over) — so the word literally says the thing was heated a second time.
字面是 warmed（被加熱過的）加 over。over 在這裡可以想成「再一次」，像 do it over（重做一次）。所以整個字直譯就是「又熱了一次」。
