Yesterday's plate, pushed back into the heat and carried out again. It is warm, and it is still yesterday's. Nothing new was made — only the temperature changed. That gap between "warm again" and "new" is where the whole word lives.
可以想成昨天那盤菜，又被推回爐子上，然後再端出來一次。它是熱的，可是它還是昨天那盤。沒有做出任何新的東西，變的只有溫度。「又熱了」跟「是新的」中間的那道落差，就是這個字真正在講的地方。

From warmed + over, where over can be taken as "again" (as in do it over) — so the word literally says the thing was heated a second time.
字面是 warmed（被加熱過的）加 over。over 在這裡可以想成「再一次」，像 do it over（重做一次）。所以整個字直譯就是「又熱了一次」。
