核心畫面

Picture a hundred very small pins touching your skin at once, too light to hurt, too many to ignore. That is a tingle. The word can stay on the skin, where cold or a knock puts it, or it can move inward, where a strong feeling puts it there instead — and the body cannot really tell the two apart.

The source is honest that the origin is uncertain. One suggestion recorded there is a link to tinkle, from a word for a small ringing sound, which would put a faint, fine, repeating signal at the bottom of both words.
