Time normally runs forward at one steady speed, the same for everyone. A time warp can be pictured as that steady run being bent out of shape: the line of time is folded so another age touches the present, or the clock is twisted so it , or it simply jams and stops moving at all. Whatever the bend, something in that place is no longer keeping time with the world outside it.
可以想成時間本來是一條往前走的直線，速度固定，大家共用。time warp 就是這條線被扭了一下。扭法有好幾種：可能是折起來，讓另一個年代直接貼到現在；也可能是被轉快，裡面的鐘一下跑掉好幾年；還可能整個卡住，外面的時間繼續走，那裡卻停在原地。共通的地方是：那裡的時間，跟外面的時間對不上了。
