From Medieval Latin situatio 'position', from situare 'to place', from situs 'a site'.

源自中世紀拉丁文 situatio「位置」，字根 situs 就是「地點」。

Picture all the things going on around you at one moment, with everything in its place — that whole arrangement of how things 'stand' right now.

可以想成：把某個時刻周圍正在發生的所有事，連同每樣東西所在的位置，一起攤開成一張「現在的全景圖」。核心畫面比較像「事情此刻擺成的樣子、所站的位置」——不只是一件事，而是整個場面、整個局勢怎麼擺著。從這個「東西擺在哪、事情站成什麼樣」的底色，往實的方向就成了「一棟建築所處的地點」，往虛的方向就成了「整體的情勢、局面」。
