A self-confident person is sure they can do things well, and fairly sure that people will like them, or at least that they will be all right in the room. It is the adjective that matches self-confidence. About a person, confident and self-confident often do the same job. Though actually, they are not always . You can make a confident prediction (you are sure about the prediction). You cannot make a self-confident prediction — that sounds as if the prediction is pleased with itself. Self-confident points at a person, or at the way a person walks, talks, or tries. People usually mean it as praise. Said with a certain look, though, it can hint that someone is a bit too sure. The sentence around it tells you which.
self-confident 說的是人，或是一個人走路、說話、做事的樣子，通常是讚美的意思。用在人身上時，它跟 confident 差不多，但用在預測上就不通了，例如「You cannot make a self-confident prediction」，因為它描述的是人的心態，不是事情。
「confident prediction」指對預測很有把握。要判斷說話者的態度，還是要看前後的句子和說話的表情，因為有時候它也會暗示對方太有把握了。
