Ram-raiding is the crime of using a vehicle as a ram against a shop so you can smash in and steal. It is mainly British news and police English. What it names is the method, not stealing in general: the car is the tool, the window is the door they make. Papers talk about a ram-raiding gang or a ram-raiding spree.
