From Latin praecisus 'cut off, cut short,' from prae 'before' + caedere 'to cut.' To be precise is to cut away all the excess and vagueness until only the exact thing is left — which is just what 'precisely' does to a statement.
來自拉丁文 praecisus「切掉、削短」，由 prae（在前）＋ caedere（切）組成。所謂 precise，就是把多餘、模糊的部分都切掉，只留下剛好那個確切的東西——precisely 對一句話做的，正是這個「切乾淨、只剩準確」的動作。
