Notepaper is paper used for writing letters or notes, often nicer than scrap paper, and sometimes sold with matching . It can mean ordinary writing paper, or slightly formal letter paper. British and American English both use it, though it can sound a little old-fashioned now, because many people type instead of writing by hand. It is the paper itself, usually loose sheets — not a (the whole pad) and not a notebook (the bound book).
