From the word’s history
From Old English macode, past tense of macian 'to make'.
源自古英文 macode,是 macian(做)的過去式。
Picture something finished and brought into being by hand or effort — 'made' is the done, past-tense side of 'make': it was produced, built, or caused to happen. From that one picture of 'something has been produced / brought about', every other use grows: where/how a thing was produced (factory-made), and a whole set of fixed phrases that imagine a person as 'finished and perfectly produced' — set up for life, perfectly suited, fully equipped, complete with happiness.
