Labouring is the -ing form of labour, and you can think of it as a snapshot of a body at work: someone lifting, digging, carrying, loading, hour after hour. Everything on this page is that snapshot pointed somewhere different. Point it at a job and you get a labouring job. Let it stand alone and it names the work itself. Point it at a whole group of people in an older kind of writing and you get the labouring classes.
