Interviewing is the -ing form of interview: to ask someone questions during an interview. You can use it for the action in progress (“She is interviewing candidates”) or for the activity in general (“Interviewing is hard work”). It covers job meetings and media talks alike. The person doing the interviewing is the interviewer; the person answering is the interviewee. In everyday English this is a completely normal verb form, not a special technical word.
