Someone imperturbable stays calm and unworried even when there is trouble all around. The meeting blows up, the train is late, the child is shouting — and their voice does not change. It can be real inner calm, or a trained face that will not show fear. The word is usually praise, and a little formal; you write it more readily than you say it. Though actually, the Latin pieces are im- (not) + (disturb, alarm) + -able (can be done to). So: cannot be disturbed. itself is per- (thoroughly) plus a root about stirring things into a mess.
