A clergyman is a man who belongs to the clergy — a male priest, minister, or similar official. The word is built in a plain way: clergy + man. It is correct, but it is also a little old-fashioned. Many people now say member of the clergy, minister, priest, or cleric, so they are not talking only about men. Use clergyman when you specifically mean a man, or when you are reading older books. Though actually, it does not tell you which religion. A clergyman might be Anglican, Catholic, or another tradition; use the job name if you need to be exact.
