A clanswoman is a woman who belongs to a clan, again especially a Scottish one. It is the female pair of , built the same way. You will meet it in history, , and novels more than in everyday city talk. It does not carry the Ku Klux Klan meaning as strongly as Klansman does — that ugly sense almost always uses the male form — but the clan / Klan spelling trap is still worth a second look.
