You act with circumspection; you show circumspection in a letter, a deal, a crossing of the street. Same formal, slightly old-fashioned feel as circumspect. Everyday English prefers care, caution, or “she thought it through.” It is not fear, and it is not delay for its own sake; though actually, from the outside, circumspection can look like slowness, and impatient people sometimes call it that. The picture in the word is still “looking around,” as against tunnel vision, when you only see the thing right in front of you.
