Chiropractic is a way of treating physical problems — back pain, neck pain, stiff joints — by pressing on and moving the bones of the spine and other joints with the hands, not by medicine and not by cutting. People go for it when they want the body pushed back into a better position. The word can name the treatment and also describe it (chiropractic treatment). It is a professional word; in some countries are licensed, and in others people argue about how much science sits behind it. Say that kindly and clearly: many patients feel better, and doctors do not all agree why, or how far it should go. Though actually, it is not a massage, even if both use hands, and it is not , which is about feet. The chiro- here means hand: treatment by doing, with the hands.
