park bench · noun · B2
A long seat for two or more people, often outdoors like in a park.
長椅
Picture one long plank set on legs — long enough for several people, with no arms and no separate places marked on it. That single object does two jobs depending on what you put on it: sit on it and it is a seat for a group; stand at it and work on it and it is a table. Almost everything `bench` means later is one particular long plank that a particular group of people is known for sitting on.
