behaviour; conduct · noun · B1
The way that a person or animal acts, especially towards other people.
Picture watching someone from across the room without hearing a word they say. What you can still see — how they treat people, what they do when things go wrong, the pattern that repeats — is their behaviour. The word points at the outside, not the inside: not what someone feels or intends, but what actually shows. That is why science can borrow it for materials and animals too; anything that acts in an pattern has behaviour.

The way that something in nature or science normally acts or works.
