1. 1

'Woollens' means clothes made of wool — sweaters, cardigans, scarves, wool socks, thick underwear — taken together as a group. You almost always meet it in the plural and with a practical, housekeeping flavour: washing them, putting them away, getting them out. That is because wool needs special care, so shops and washing machines have a 'woollens' setting, and people say 'wash your woollens by hand' or 'it's cold enough to get the woollens out'. It sounds slightly older and more British; younger speakers are more likely to say 'wool things' or just name the item. The spelling splits by country: British 'woollens' with two l's, American 'woolens' with one, both said the same way. Don't confuse it with 'woollies', a warmer, more informal word for the same clothes.

組成wool + -en + -s. The '-en' ending means 'made of that material', as in 'wooden' (made of wood) or 'golden'. So 'woollen' = made of wool, and adding -s turns it into a noun for the things themselves.
