Wine — but said in a relaxed, joking, slightly cheap way. It is the Italian and Spanish word for wine, borrowed into English whole, and English keeps the holiday feeling that comes with it. You say vino among friends: "Fancy a glass of vino?" You do not say it in a restaurant to a sommelier, and you would not write it in an essay.

Because of that light tone, vino tends to point at ordinary drinking wine rather than anything serious. Nobody calls a hundred-dollar bottle vino without smiling. In British English especially it is very common and very casual — a bit like calling a cup of tea a cuppa.

It is a mass noun, like wine itself: some vino, a glass of vino, a bit too much vino. You can say vinos for glasses of it in very loose speech, but wine's own grammar is the safer model.
