To a degree that is outrageous — far past what anyone should have to accept. The adverb of *unconscionable*, and in real writing it lives almost entirely in the excess sense rather than the moral one. Its favourite job is intensifying an adjective about amount or time: *unconscionably long*, *unconscionably slow*, *unconscionably expensive*, *unconscionably late*. You can feel the speaker's in it; it is a complaint dressed in a formal coat. It also attaches to verbs: *the case dragged on unconscionably*, *they delayed unconscionably*. The moral use exists — *he behaved unconscionably towards his family* means he acted in a way no decent conscience could allow — and there it is genuinely serious, not just . Context tells you which one you are hearing: with a number or a measurement, it means ' much'; with *behaved*, *treated*, or *acted*, it means 'wrongly'. It is a written, educated word; in speech people reach for *ridiculously long* or *insanely expensive*. Say it un-CON-shun-a-blee.
