1. 1

The adverb form: doing something, or accepting something hard, without complaining about it. Because it describes an action, it goes with a verb, and it usually comes at the end of the sentence or just after the verb — 'she worked uncomplainingly', 'he waited uncomplainingly for three hours'. The verbs that go with it tell you the whole story of the word: work, wait, suffer, follow, obey, endure, carry, accept. It is a long, heavy, written word; in speech people say 'without complaining' or 'without a word', and honestly those sound more natural. Keep uncomplainingly for writing where you want that quiet, patient, slightly noble tone.
