The adverb of unceasing: doing something without ever stopping, over a long period. It attaches to verbs — the machines ran unceasingly, he worked unceasingly for the cause, the wind blew unceasingly all night. As with the adjective, this is formal, written English. In speech you would hear non-stop or all the time or without a break. Two useful observations about how it is really used. First, it prefers verbs of continuing activity — work, rain, blow, run, talk, complain, pray — rather than one-moment verbs. "He unceasingly opened the door" is wrong-sounding; opening a door is not the kind of thing that flows. Second, position matters: it usually comes after the verb (she talked unceasingly), sometimes before it in more literary writing (he unceasingly reminded us). Putting it between a verb and its object sounds clumsy. As with unceasing, the tone follows what it describes. Unceasingly kind is warm praise; unceasingly complaining is a quiet criticism. The word lends weight either way, so choose it when the length of time is the point you want to make.
