    Tasteless has two very different uses. Food that is tasteless has no flavor at all - it's bland and boring to eat. But a joke, a comment, or a piece of decoration can also be called tasteless, which means it shows poor judgment - it's rude, offensive, or just wrong for the situation, even if the person didn't mean any harm.

組成taste + -less ('without'). Tasteless means without taste - either without flavor, or without good judgment about what is appropriate.
