    The number 16. It is ten plus six, and it comes after fifteen and before seventeen. You also use it to say how old someone is: "He was sixteen" means he was 16 years old.

    sixteen 就是數字 16。字尾的 -teen 可以想成是從 ten 長出來的：six 加上 -teen，像「6 再加 10」，所以 13 到 19 都掛著這個字尾。講年齡時可以只說 She is sixteen，也可以加 years old，但一定要有 be 動詞（中文「她十六歲」沒有動詞，英文不能照搬）。最容易混的是 sixty（60）：sixteen 的字尾是拉長又重讀的 -teen，sixty 的 -ty 又短又輕。
