Scornfully tells you how someone speaks, looks, or acts: they do it in a way, making it clear they think little of the person or the idea. You add it to a verb: laugh scornfully, look scornfully, say something scornfully. The feeling is the same as ; this form just names the manner. It is a little . A younger speaker might just say they said it in a mean way, or that they were looking down on you.
