    "Scorn" is a strong feeling of looking down on someone or something, feeling it isn't worth respect at all — stronger than just disliking something. As a noun: "she looked at him with scorn." As a verb, "to scorn" something means to reject it while clearly showing you think it isn't good enough: "he scorned their offer of help." It's a fairly formal, serious word, more common in writing than casual speech.
