The scoreline is the score of a match written as numbers — 2-1, 3-0, and so on. You hear it a lot in football, rugby, and tennis, especially in Britain, on TV and in the papers. Though actually it is not only the final result: people also talk about the scoreline at half-time, or say the scoreline does not tell the whole story (one side may have played well and still lost). Americans more often just say the score. It is a sports word, not a word for marks on a test.
