Saddlery is the name for the things a saddler makes: saddles and the other leather goods that go with riding a horse — reins, straps, bags, and the like. People also use the word for the trade itself, or for the shop, though this sense is the goods. It is a specialist word. You will see it in riding, farming, or history, not in everyday city talk. Like saddler, it comes from saddle, not from sad.
