    A saddler is a person who makes and repairs saddles — the leather seats you put on a horse — and often other leather horse gear too: reins, straps, bags. The same word can also mean the shop where those things are sold. It is an old trade name. You still find saddlers where people ride, but it is not a job most city students will meet. Though the spelling starts like sad, it has nothing to do with feeling unhappy. The first piece is saddle.
