A right-winger is a person with right-wing — on the side that, in the tidy dictionary picture, supports capitalism and conservative aims. Reporters use it for a politician, a voter, or a talk-show voice. Though actually, it can land a little harder than right-of-centre: sometimes it only describes, and sometimes it needles. Groups get talked about this way too, but the word itself points at a person. This is the sense, not the sports one.
