A repository is a place where things are collected, stored, and can be found again later. It can be a physical place (a repository for old government documents) or, very commonly today, a place online where computer code or files are stored (a 'code repository,' often just called a 'repo'). It's also used about a person: 'she is a repository of family stories' means she is the one who remembers and holds them all.
