Repeated means it happened again, and again — not once. A repeated mistake, repeated warnings, repeated knocks at the door. The word does not judge; it only counts. That is the quiet difference from repetitive, which often says ‘this is ’ or ‘this goes on too long.’ A repeated question may be fair; a repetitive lesson feels dull. Repeated is also the -ed form of the verb repeat, so the adjective and the verb live next door: ‘a repeated word’ and ‘he repeated the word.’ In speech it is a calm, ordinary word. You will see it in notices (‘after repeated requests’) and in stories, and it never needs to sound fancy.
