1. 1

A Rastaman is a man who follows Rastafari, the Jamaican faith and way of life that grew in the 1930s. In that community men often wear dreadlocks, keep to ital food, listen to , and honour Haile Selassie of Ethiopia as a holy figure. Rastaman is the street and song word; is the tidier dictionary word for the same person. It names a man. A woman in the same faith may be called a Rastawoman, though many people just say for anyone. Insiders use Rastaman with pride. Outsiders sometimes stretch it to mean “anyone with dreadlocks” or “anyone who likes ,” but that is loose: plenty of people wear the look without belonging to the faith. Using it as a costume or a joke can feel cheap. It is not an insult in Jamaican English.

    拉斯塔法里教徒(男)。Reggae 圈也直接說「拉斯塔曼」。
