A purveyor is a person or a business whose work is to supply something. In older English, a purveyor often supplied food to a big household, a city, or the army — a steward of stores. Today you still see it on fancy food labels: purveyor of fine teas, purveyor of cheeses. That use sounds proud and a bit old-shop. News writers also stretch it: a purveyor of ideas, a purveyor of conspiracy theories. The second of those is not a compliment; it paints the person as someone who hands out a product, not someone you should simply believe. The word is formal. In everyday talk, people say supplier, shop, or just the company name. Though actually, the job-title smell never quite left: a purveyor is thought of as being in the business of that thing, not doing it once.
組成From Middle English purveiour, from Anglo-Norman purveour / Old French purveour (modern French pourvoyeur), from the verb porveoir / purveer “to provide, to supply.” Agent noun: the one who purveys.
