Prospero is a name, not a common English word for a thing. He is the main character in Shakespeare’s play The Tempest: a duke thrown out of his own land, living on an island, using books and magic to rule the winds and the people around him. By the end he puts the magic down and goes home. Though actually, many English speakers never use the name unless they have met that play in school or in the theatre. Always write it with a capital P. It is a person. It is not the adjective prosperous, even though the name was chosen to sound like doing well or being fortunate.
