You meet it in news, protests, and election talk, especially about the United States; it is not small talk. The word is an adjective: a pro-choice voter, a pro-choice group, she is pro-choice. Though actually, both sides chose kind-sounding names. Pro-choice puts the weight on 'who decides'; people who disagree say the real question is the life of the child. The tidy dictionary line is one belief; the street argument is hotter than that line.
