Physiotherapy is a kind of treatment that uses movement, planned exercise, hands-on work, heat, ice, and similar methods to help the body, especially muscles, joints, and the way a person walks or reaches. Doctors often send someone for physiotherapy after a broken bone, a stroke, back pain, or surgery. It is the same idea as physical therapy, which is the usual name in American English; physiotherapy is the usual name in British English and in many hospitals elsewhere. People also say physio for short. It is practical medical language, not a poetic word. It is not treatment with physics, and it is not psychotherapy (talking about feelings).
組成physio- (from Greek physis, nature / the body) + therapy (from Greek therapeia, care and treatment).
