Picture someone standing on one side of a decision and, after a while of talking, over to the other. You did not move them by force — the moving happened inside them. Persuade names your part in that: reasons offered, asking again, until the other person crosses over. Sometimes what they cross over to is an action; sometimes it is simply believing you.
